Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for a site to work at all, such as keeping you signed in. Others let the site's owner see how the site is being used. Where this policy says "cookies" it also covers similar technologies such as local storage and analytics scripts.

The list is short, so we keep this short.

• Essential cookies (session and sign-in). If you sign in on the website, we set cookies that keep your session and protect it from misuse. They are required for the signed-in parts of the site to work, are not used for tracking, and expire when you sign out or after a period of inactivity.
• Google Analytics. The website loads Google Analytics (gtag.js), which sets cookies to tell returning visitors apart and to report pages viewed, approximate location, browser and device type. We use these reports only to understand how the site is used and to improve it. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
• Vercel Analytics. The website is hosted on Vercel and loads Vercel Analytics, which measures page views and site performance. It does not set cookies; it uses a short-lived, hashed identifier that is not used to track you across other sites.

We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell information collected through cookies. If you use a payment form on the website, our payment processor may set its own strictly necessary cookies for security and fraud prevention, under its own privacy policy; see the Payments section of our Privacy PolicyPrivacy Policy/docs/privacy-policy.

The Weight Wagers iPhone app does not use cookies. It does not include Google Analytics, advertising software or any other third-party analytics or tracking software. What the app does collect, including Apple Health data, is described in the Privacy PolicyPrivacy Policy/docs/privacy-policy.

• Browser settings. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, for all sites or for weightwagersapp.com only. Clearing your cookies removes any Google Analytics cookies already set. If you block essential cookies you will not be able to stay signed in on the website; the rest of the site keeps working.
• Google Analytics. Install Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-onAnalytics Opt-out Browser Add-onhttps://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, which stops gtag.js from sending data to Google from any website you visit. You can also review and delete the activity Google holds about you through your Google account settings.
• Vercel Analytics. Because it sets no cookies, there is nothing to delete. A browser extension or ad blocker that blocks analytics scripts prevents it from loading.

If the cookies or analytics tools the website uses change, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
