We offer two types of challenges with potentially two additional coming out:

  • You can only join one weight category at a time (weight loss, weight gain, or maintenance).
  • You can join up to two challenges within the same category at once.
  • You can always participate in a step challenge alongside a weight-related challenge.

Tracking & Syncing Data

Weight Wagers syncs with Apple Health to automatically track your weight and step data. You just need to have your fitness devices or scale sync to apple health. Then you just focus on hitting your goal and we’ll handle the tracking\! For longer term weight challenges, anything greater than 1+ month will require video verification.

To ensure your data updates correctly, we recommend: Opening the app regularly so it pulls the latest info. Ensuring Apple Health is enabled for data sharing. Manually refreshing the app if needed.

Yes, but for 1-month and longer challenges, manual weigh-ins require verification.

For weight-based challenges, you must log at least three weigh-ins per week for your progress to count. For challenges requiring manual entries, one entry is required \+/- three days before or after the start of the challenge and one entry is required \+/- three days before or after the end of the challenge. We recommend you still weigh in weekly with a scale that syncs to apple health as we will provide reminders and accountability based on where you are at in your journey.

Payments, Payouts & Fees

  • You pay a buy-in to enter a challenge.
  • If you meet your goal, you split the prize with other winners.
  • Weight Wagers takes a small fee to keep the platform running.

In order for us to operate the app and website, we need to cover all operational costs. These include database maintenance, hosting the servers, marketing, salaries for employees, and more. We also cover all processing fees and payout fees so our users can maximize their prizes. Our platform fees are higher for shorter term challenges as it typically costs us more to run these challenges. We also believe users should be rewarded larger prizes for longer commitments so we reduce our platform fee for longer term challenges.

We batch payouts after a challenge is completed. Usually funds are sent out the week following the end of the challenge.

Data Usage & Privacy

Refunds & Cancellations

Refunds are not guaranteed but may be considered in cases of medical emergencies with proof. All refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We truly believe in the accountability aspect of this platform and would not like users to quit half way through. This would also impact the prizes for other users. Therefore we highly recommend you are sure you can participate in the full challenge before joining.

No, once a challenge starts, you cannot cancel or switch challenges. This ensures fairness for all participants.
